Factor 55 ProLink

The ProLink, crafted by Factor 55, is their original shackle mount. It's a straightforward installation that empowers winch owners to swap out their vehicle's winch hook with a more robust shackle/D-Ring mount. Manufactured in the USA, ProLink is precision-engineered and machined from lightweight billet 6061 aluminum. What sets it apart is that it doesn't require any splicing and is compatible with both steel and synthetic ropes, as well as hawse and roller fairleads.

Inside the ProLink, the cable eye is held in place by an ultra-strong aerospace-grade titanium double-shear pin and an internal snap ring. Installing it is a quick and easy process that takes just minutes. Additionally, the ProLink includes an EPDM rubber guard, designed to protect alloy fairleads and is securely attached to the ProLink using four barbed tips, ensuring it doesn't rattle during use.

Where closed system winching was born.

Closed System Winching is a winching technique using rigging comprised entirely of closed link hardware. The non-closable opening of common winch hooks prevent hooks from qualifying as secure closed links.  Poorly constructed sheet metal safety latches of hooks do not qualify as a secure means to contain loads and are prone to failure, especially during momentary slack conditions where winch loads often shift and apply high forces to these weak non-structural latches.  Hooks often come loose during vehicle recovery operations due to hook safety latch failures.
